The story behind the damage in the room. We didn't want to mention the damage but true the fact that the owners talk about it in their review of us I'm obligated to clear this out.
The room was so small that one of us have stepped on the curtain. The suspension and offcourse the curtain felt down. We have reported it immediatly to the owner and she said that her husband will fix it. Not immediately but that was no problem for us. In fact I didn't want it to be fixed because it will happen again true lack of space.
The day after reporting we came back from a visit of Rimini and the owner said 'i'm sorry' for several times. She repeated 'I'm sorry' so many times that it feeled like it was the opposite that she meant. She said that she have called someone to fix the curtain and it was about 75 € and that we have to pay it. There where parts needed and other stuff to fix it. I've seen the plugs used before and that was the reason the the curtain felt down. The plugs where not suitable for this kind of holes in the sealing (concrete vaults ) and the plugs where attached for about 0.5 cm wich is far to short. The plugs where still attached to the suspension so I could take a good look at it. A chain breaks at the weakest chain link. In this case the curtain seems to be stronger then the used screw and plugs...
No wander that that this come down when it's crappy fixed in the first place!
Like said before we had to pay the bill. Is it usual to pay for accidents? I don't think so and it show how the owners view their guests: cashcows.
We have someone that come every week to clean our house. She has broken a bedside lamp, a drawer cabinet and recently - believe it or not - a curtain. A plastic hook was broken.
Are we happy with it? Certainly not! Did we charged her? No we didn't. Things can happen. If you don't want that things can be broken then you have to close your doors and let no one in. Letting your guests pay for something that can be fixed easily by the owner is a little shame. If I had tools I would have made it by myself. 75€ for an half hour of work is easy earned. For this price that so called handy man could have left the room cleaned. Now the staff also have to clean it up.
We have paid it and for us it was case closed... until the owner opens the case again in their review on booking.com.
